History
Shone's Nursery began as a family business in the late 1970s, shortly after Ralph and Irene bought a 10 acre property in Pearcedale, on the Mornington Peninsula. Specialising in growing Ericas and Boronias in 2" tubes, they also cut flowers from the stock bushes to sell at the Melbourne Flower Market.
After the drought and water restrictions on 1982, and consequential cancelled orders, the decision was made to progress up to 3" grow-tubes and to diversify into many different lines. This broadened the horizons and Shone's Nursery quickly developed into one of Victoria's largest 3" tube growers.
Shone's Nursery now supplies customers all over Victoria and interstate with between 300 and 400 different lines of ground covers, shrubs, trees, climbers and cottage plants.
